Hanna Reitsch, who died in 1979, had a remarkable career primarily  as a glider pilot and in ·this field obtained many World Records (1934: World Altitude Record for Women (2800m) — 1970 World Women's record for Point-to-Point Flying (523kml She became the first German woman jet pilot and the first to fly the ME 163 rocket powered aircraft. Subsequently she came first in the Ladies class at the First World Helicopter Championships.

2. Gerd Achgelis served as Chief Test Pilot with Focke-Wulf at Bremen and Berlin from 1933 to 1938.
