Trenkle, granted the title of Flugkapitan in 1942 at the incredibly early age of 30, was coy about the total number of aircraft he had test flowr·
"I really cannot say  I only know my total flying time was about 15,000 hrs, about 9,000 with Messerschmitt and about 5,000 on the ME109". Of course he was involved in testing many other types, the ME 108, 210, 410 and 262 among them.
