TP 11b Cover bearing a 10%p Jersey "International Air Rally" commemorative stamp signed by the Meteor pilot (2554)
TP 11c Cover bearing an 11p Jersey "Internationa| Air Rally" commemorative stamp. It was flown in Gladiator K 8032 of the Shuttleworth Trust from Old Warden Aerodrome by Wg Cdr Martin who has signed the Cover. It is also signed by Colonel J.P. Carne (1160 numbered and certified)


Note
1. Wg Cdr 'Dicky' Martin joined the RAF in 1937 and flew during World War Il with 73(Fl, 108 and 250(FI Squadrons. He completed the Empire Test Pilots School at Cranfield and returned in 1949 as an Instructor. He became Chief Test Pilot of Glosters in 1953 testing Nleteors and Javelins and then joined AvRoe testing Vulcans, Shackletons and the HS 748. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Shuttleworth Trust.
2. Colonel Carne was awarded the Victori  Cross for his part in the Battle of the Imjin River, North Korea during the Korea War. He was taken prisoner of war and, whilst in captivity, carved the Cross Of Stone which now rests in Gloucester Cathedral.
