Notes
1. John Cunningham flewwith, and subsequently commanded No 604 Squadron in World War 2. He destroyed at least 20 enemy aircraft and was awarded 3 DSOs, 2 DFCs and the American Silver Star. He returned to test flying with de Havillands assuming the post of Chief Test Pilot on the death of Geoffrey de Havilland in 1946.* In addition to the Comet, Cunningham flew prototypes of the DH 110, Nimrod and Tridents.
2. Approximately 700 Standard Covers were pilot signed and randomly distributed. These were replacements for Pilot Signed Covers mislaid during production.
