Backstamp None Total Number Issued 7,500 F2a Standard Cover F2b Design of F2a as illustrated, but cancelled at Koln (Cologne) and with 'RECEIVED FOLKESTONE' cachet as illustrated in F3 (1000) Notes 1. The error F2b was due to a combination of factors. F2 Covers were serviced in error with the 'inbound' stampings because of confusion between two almost identical covers by members of the travelling Post Office on board the Pembroke aircraft. Additionally a small number of Covers were printed by mistake with the wrong colour border. 2. The Badge of the Royal Engineers appears on both F2 and F3 because the proceeds of the Covers were shared between the RAF Museum and Army Charities, and the Royal Engineers are responsible for running the British Forces Postal Service.
