Backstamp L.ONDON-HEATHROW - 6 JULY 1982 Concorde Total Number issued 10.000 FF 38a Standard Cover FF 38b Cover bearing a 10p Jersey definitive stamp signed by Capt Ross (2500) FF 38c Cover bearing a 11p Jersey "Europa" commemorative stamp. It was flown in Concorde from Kennedy Airport NY to Heathrow and is signed by Sheila Scott, one of the most famous women aviators. (1180 numbered and certified.} Notes 1. The original for this cover was painted by Philip Nlarchington. 2. Amelia Earhart broke the first of many aviation records - womens altitude = in 1922. Although her first flight across the Atlantic was as a passenger, three years later, in 1932, she set her own record for the crossing. It was during what she considered the ultimate challenge � an equatorial circumnavigation of the Globe � that she went missing in March 1937 and was never seen again.
